07/20/2020, MVC with Entrapment, Maurice River Twp. Cumberland County NJ, Rt. 47 and Rt. 347
On an extremely hot and humid July 20, 2020, the Port Elizabeth Fire Dept. along with units from Cumberland, Leesburg, Dorothy EMS, Medic 9, and Life Support 6 were dispatched to the area of Rt. 47 and Rt. 347, for a reported MVC with entrapment and multiple patients. Engine 2601 arrived with a 3 vehicle mvc, 1 overturned, 1 patient trapped, and a total of nine patients on scene. With the large number of patients, command requested the EMS Strike Team dispatched to the scene. Engine 2601's crew quickly extricated the trapped patient. EMS on scene requested 1 helicopter to fly. Cumberland Tender 2311, was then dispatched to set up an lz at a local elementary school. BLS units from Belleplain, Millville, Laurel Lake, Dorothy, Rosenhayn, Vineland, and Inspira, transported the patients to local hospitals. Copper 1 transported 1 patient to a local trauma center. NJSP assisted at the scene. The cause of the mvc is under investigation.
