In the late night hours of Nov. 28, 2017, Ladder 17, Tender 17-11 (Cedarville), Engine 39-01 (Downe Twp.), Tender 16-02 (Fairton), and Sq. 38 (Lawrence Twp. EMS), were dispatched to 1026 Ramah Rd. for a reported dwelling fire. Units responding were advised that the caller came home to heavy smoke pushing from the front door, with possible pets trapped. 17-31 arrived with heavy smoke showing from a 1 story single family dwelling. Moments later, command reported heavy fire showing from the "A"B" corner. The all hands was struck bringing, Tower 7 (Bridgeton), Tender 39-11 (Downe Twp.), and Engine 30 (Millville) to the scene. Crews went interior, quick knocking down the bulk of the fire. Crews remained on scene, well into the night, checking for hot spots, and preforming overhaul. Unfortunately, some pets were lost in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. NJSP also assisted at the scene.
