On Jan. 20, 2009, Dist. 10 was dispatched along with Squad 10-9, were dispatched to Hurffville Rd. for a dwelling. Units arrived with heavy fire showing from a 1 story single family dwelling and requested the all hands struck. Crews made an aggressive attack but were pushed back due to deteriorating conditions. Ladders 10-16 and 10-26 were placed in service as crews went defensive. After some time on location, the fire was placed under control. Units from Hurffville, Grenloch, Whitman Square, Deptford, and Blackwood also responded to the scene. Washington Twp. PD and the County FM are investigating.
